Our Mission

NIRA brings together institutions of higher education that compete at the highest levels of intercollegiate women’s rugby in the United States. The Association seeks, to organize, manage, and promote the sport of intercollegiate women’s rugby, and to annually hold a postseason intercollegiate national women’s rugby championship called the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) National Championship.

The overarching goal of the Association is to help support the growth of women’s rugby nationally to attain NCAA Championship status.

@harvardcrimson will serve as the host site for the 2025 National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) Championship, set for Saturday, Nov. 22, at Mignone Field. Two divisional championships—Division I and a combined Division II & III—will unfold on Harvard’s campus across the course ...of the day, bringing together some the top collegiate rugby programs in the country for one the premier events in women’s collegiate rugby. This year’s championship marks the third time Harvard has hosted the event, with previous editions held in 2019 and 2023. 📺 @espn +
